SendRoute — Privacy Policy

SendRoute ("we", "our", "the app") converts Google Maps directions into GPX route files for use with Garmin devices. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data We Collect

SendRoute collects minimal data:

• We do not collect your name, email address, or personal information.
• We do not collect your location or GPS data.
• We do not store the Google Maps URLs you submit.
• We do not store the GPX route files we generate.
• We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind.
• If you connect your Garmin account, we store an OAuth token solely to deliver routes to your device. No other Garmin data is accessed or stored.

How the App Works

When you submit a Google Maps directions link, our server:

• Parses the URL to extract the origin and destination.
• Requests route data from the Google Directions API.
• Converts the route into a GPX file.
• Returns the GPX file directly to your device.

This process happens in real time. No data is logged or stored on our servers after the response is sent.

Garmin Connect Integration

SendRoute can deliver routes to your Garmin device in two ways:

• File sharing: The GPX file is passed directly to the Garmin Connect app on your device via iOS file sharing. No data passes through our servers in connection with Garmin.
• Garmin Courses API (optional): If you choose to connect your Garmin account, we securely store an OAuth authentication token on our server to push routes directly to your Garmin device. We use this token solely to deliver routes you request. We do not access your activity data, health data, or any other information in your Garmin account. You can disconnect your Garmin account at any time, which immediately deletes your stored token.

Activity Data

We do not collect, use, share, sell, or disclose any user activity data. We have no access to your Garmin activity history, fitness data, health metrics, or device data.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service we use is the Google Directions API, which receives the origin and destination from your directions link in order to calculate the route. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We retain no user data. There is nothing to delete because nothing is stored.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
